La Glasgow Cup è una competizione calcistica introdotta nel 1887 dalla Glasgow Football Association e riservata alle squadre della città. Dopo i primi decenni di grande successo la coppa subisce la concorrenza delle coppe europee e perde interesse rischiando l'irrilevanza. Gli anni '70 sono i più difficili con alcune edizioni non disputate o abbandonate. A volte i protagonisti preferiscono schierare le squadre riserva. La competizione viene rilanciata nel 1990 con le formazioni giovanili.

Dopo anni difficili si tenta di rilanciare la Coppa riservandola al settore giovanile. Dal 1989-90 vengono schierate formazioni Under-19, dal 2007-08 formazioni Under-17 e formazioni Under-20 nel 2018-19.
