| La National League è il campionato di quinta divisione del calcio inglese. La lega è stata fondata nel 1979 come Alliance Premier Football League su indicazione di Alan Hardaker il segretario della Football League che propose la fusione di Northern Premier League e Southern League per migliorare la competitività dei loro migliori clubs. Nel 1986 è stata rinominata Football Conference ed è stato introdotto il sistema automatico di promozioni e retrocessioni. Nel 2004 sono state introdotte due divisioni inferiori la North e la South, mentre nel 2015 è stato adottato il nome attuale. |
